NEED HELP...STEAK STUCK!!!!
Hey everyone!!
I am now dealing with a piece of steak stuck!!! UGH!! I made shish kabobs and had my first bite and I totally must have swallowed it without thinking and I waited to long to go throw it up and it is stuckkkkk....I feel as if the weight of an elephant is on my chest and a whole bunch of gurgling and almost indigestion feeling going on and a pain in my tummy! I don't have the patience to do a search for it and was wondering if anyone knows a quick cure!! I have heard of meat tenderizer mixed with H2o but I dont have any...any suggestions would be appreciated!! I have had food stuck 2 other times, but within a minute of knowing it was stuck, i made myself get it up and felt 100% better within a minute...I waited about 5 minutes and this little bugger is S.T.U.C.K. PS....YES I AM ALLOWED TO HAVE STEAK...it was approved by my surgeon at 5 weeks!!! Thanks~JAMI

Sorry about getting sick, but I have a similar problem with food getting stuck in my esophagus - and I'm pre-op! But warm water always works for me. The point of drinking something warm is that it relaxes your esophogus. You have to remember this organ is having to work harder now to push food into your pouch. You can help it do its job with some warmth - even before you eat - have a little hot tea or just room temperature water. You can also do the colicky baby trick and put a ho****er bottle or heating pad to the spot where you feel the food is stuck. This will increase blood flow to the esophagus and help it relax as well.

I drink hot tea and always keep papaya enzyme around. When I get something stuck, I get terrible waves of cramping from my chest to my belly button. OUCH!
